Gresham's Art and Design Curriculum Map

At Gresham, Art and Design is an ongoing process to develop specific skills, knowledge and understanding that enables the children to work in a variety of media, style and form. Art at Gresham fires the children’s imagination and allows them to express themselves in a visual or tactile form. It is taught as a practical subject and provides opportunities for reflection helping the children to make informed, critical responses to their own work and that of others. Children at Gresham have an art sketchbook that becomes a cumulative record of their work; this is then passed on to the next teacher at the end of each year.

Art work is celebrated and displayed around the school to create a bright, rich and stimulating environment for the children to be in.
